Electric buses are being produced and assembled at the factory
At the end of the year, 35 new electric buses will be added to the bus fleet of Rīgas satiksme. The production and assembly of the new buses is currently in progress at the factory. The buses will be truly green – both environmentally friendly and in terms of exterior paintwork.
The total maximum planned purchase amount for the supply of 52 electric buses and their spare parts is EUR 34.3 million without VAT. The total duration of the contract is not expected to exceed 5 years, excluding the provided guarantee periods.
The planned maximum contract amount for the first 35 electric buses is EUR 23.1 million without VAT, and the electric buses will be purchased under the project “Purchase of electric buses for the city of Riga” (4.5.1.2/22/I/002), which will receive EUR 18.2 million in co-financing from the European Union Cohesion Fund. The maximum contract amount planned for the purchase of an additional 17 electric buses is EUR 11.2 million without VAT, and the purchase of these electric buses is planned to be carried out by attracting co-financing from the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, but the purchase of these 17 electric buses has yet to be decided.
